If you never have installed a seat cover before, have a buddy help you that's done it or take it to an upholsterer who does bikes & cars.
**** And do not install a seat cover on a poor foam or bad seat base! Why you ask? The seat cover will not fit correctly! If you are unable to replace the foam then I suggest taking the seat to an upholsterer who can revise the seatcover to fit the foam..****
Also, be certain what year your bike is & if the seat that is on your bike is the correct one! Call me if you need help..
But, if you want to give it a go here are some tips:
First of all make certain the seat on your bike is the correct one for that make & model!!! You could have anything on there!!
Make sure the base & foam are in good condition.
Warm up the seat cover in the sun or with a hair dryer @ a safe distance!!
Stretch the vinyl before installing on the seat.
Compress the foam while you streched the seat cover over the foam. Stand on it if you have too or have someone stand on it. Make sure you have something covering the floor.
The seat cover will be a snug fit!
Staple the edges securely & neatly to the base. Adding a good adhesive glue to the edges before stapling gives it a neat job done well! Make certain the glue does not get on the part of the seat cover that you will be sitting on or on the stenciled logos!!
Feel free to call me if you like a walk through.
Nothing like new vintage accessories on an ole dirt bike!!
