Customer's Restorations

Andrew from the UK

Hi Ray,

Here's a couple of pics for you.  One is my 79 CCM 580 which I finished in early 2004.  I'm now building another 79 CCM, so this one is now for sale (if you know anyone over there who might be interested).

The other is a pic of my next project - a 1980 Heuser HMT 250.  A very rare bike - built in Germany in 1980/81 using a Sachs engine.  I don't know of any others in existence.

cheers
Andrew

I've been racing on & off since age 13 (I'm 41 now).  These days, I ride UK pre-65 MX events on a 470cc BSA Victor, plus 'twin-shock' events (ie pre-81..ish) on a 79 580 CCM.

I'm currently restoring another CCM - a 79 580 4-valve, which should be finished in a few weeks.  After that, I will start work on the Heuser, although it will actually be coming apart this weekend.

I live near Cardigan, on the west Wales coast.  There's a pretty good racing scene here, with three promoting clubs all within about 90 minutes drive (one track is only ten minutes away!).  Occasionally, I make a trip further afield and I will be racing again at Farleigh Castle (near Bath) in July.  Farleigh is the old British GP track and is probably the biggest vintage MX event of the year in the UK, although there are two others (one at Hawkstone Park, Shrewsbury; the other at Canada Heights, Kent) which come pretty close.

The BSA is currently in bits at the moment.  As soon as its back together, I'll send you a pic of that as well!

Hope this is useful...!

cheers
Andrew
